That is because Solr is built on top of Lucene. In DSpace context that
may sound confusing, because the old Lucene and the new Solr are
independent - most importantly the indexes are stored separately (in
[dspace]/search and [dspace]/solr, respectively).

So when I was talking about DSpace getting rid of the need for Lucene,
I meant the old, separate one; not the one integrated in Solr.
