First of all, which gallery theme did you use, this one https://github.com/osulibraries/xmlui-webapp/tree/master/themes or this one? https://github.com/osulibraries/DSpaceOSUKB/tree/development/dspace-xmlui/dspace-xmlui-webapp/src/main/webapp/themes
The later seem newer, so before you try anything else, make sure you're not using the old one.
