Not only you, but all the packagers will have to come up to speed
on CMake.  As one of the Debian maintainers, I'd rather not have
to spend time doing this and repackaging dspam.

There's surely enough to do to get this project squared away without
tearing up the build system because of some bugs in the configuration.
