I am not in Texas, but, I will tell you what we do here in West Central
Florida. 145.67 is the prime simplex frequency. I have never heard any packet
activity on that frequency. There are two guys that work analog simplex on that
frequency, every morning at 6 am. We use 1294.3 for 23 cm simplex. I am
advocating 1259.8 for DD simplex and 441.0 for 70 cm simplex.
It would be nice if the ARRL updated their bandplans. About 8 or 9 years ago,
some people, from the WCF section tried to talk to the folks in Newington.
They were told that band plans are a local matter.
