I bought my D-star radio to play with and learn about digital communications. Even tho it will do analog, that is not why I use it. The ability to connect different analog modes is a good idea and needs limited testing to see if it works. I would like D-Star to remain pure digital and a stand alone system. To much interlinking is going to drive some away. I can use my D-Star radio on analog to access many EchoLink/IRLP/and IRLP-EchoLink systems now in my area. Some of the constant interlinking on the reflectors is already tuning some hams off. Separate systems may be more viable in a emergency that interlinking. I do not know any D-Star owner who does not have many analog radios for use when needed.. Dale
