I would have to agree that the old format was much easier to use.  I would 
typically select the listings I needed (using the state sort), highlight, then 
either "print selection" or cut and paste into excel.  Done.  

Having said that, I really appreciate the effort required to maintain this.

Maybe the author is trying to reduce server load?
