Hi Mark,

I am glad you are getting good responses to your question. I believe
D-Star will continue to grow and at a faster rate. It is my opinion
that dplus has made this possible allowing repeaters to link to each
other in an easier fashion than the Icom concept. I jumped in back in
August when the local AES store in Orlando put up an operating vhf
and uhf repeater (W4AES) with gateway. As Bob, W2BZY, has mentioned,
the OARC club repeaters will have gateway soon (Thank you Bob!) I am
sure you have looked at the dstarusers.org site and can see sites
going up through out the Florida area. It has been a high learning
curve, but it has been fun and still is. Why don't you take a drive
to AES and take a look at the setup. The repeaters are in the front
of the store at the end of the counter. Bruce, WD4HIM, did most of
the work, is quite knowledgeable and works at AES. I think it would
be great if you put up a D-Star repeater and I am willing to help as
I am sure would others. If it were not for other repeater users and
owners, W4AES would still be struggling. It has received support from
as far away as Alabama and a lot from the Lakeland D-Star group.

Orlando's Hamcation is going to be more fun in February with a
stronger D-Star presence.

Best of Wishes (73)

James, N0XIA
