Tom:

How's that going? We're working on a 12 site plan for Michigan's
District 7 (Northern L.P.). I sent a note to the MARC asking them if 12
VHF and 12 UHF allocations would be a problem and the response was that
we should just submit them and they didn't indicate that there would be
any problem. Considering that we're at 7 months and counting on a VHF
coordination for the repeater at the Icebreaker Mackinaw in Mackinaw
City, I wonder how long it would take for those 24 coordinations.

If you haven't see it yet, W8HVG's discussion on D-Star coordination in
Michigan pretty much lays out the challenges.

We are concerned that it may not be possible to get 12 VHF D-Star
coordinations for this area so we're considering going with two UHF
ports per site rather than the more common configuration. (I assume
that's technically not a problem.) That would be a shame since the VHF
coverage would certainly help. Here's our preliminary plots.

At this point I'm still trying to get enough pricing information for all
the equipment to submit the formal proposal to the interested funding
agency. I think it may be helpful for us to communicate directly in that
regard if you're interested.
