Hmm... I'm not so sure about that... if you *unknowingly* do so, yeah, I expect the FCC would give you the benefit of the doubt and you'd be OK, but if "the customer" says, "here's an encrypted file, please send it" I'd be quite surprised if the correct response is anything other than, "Um, FCC regulations are such that I'm not allowed to do that on amateur radio frequencies... do you have agency radio I can use?" (Keeping in mind that if it really is a life or death situation, sure, anything goes and you can worry about the consequences later.) ---Joel
