Hi Keith, I have seen some folks have trouble sending data because the squelch is too loose on their radio - you might be sure the sq is closed and maybe use the RF attn is setup.
For testing I use dplus echo. I believe you set the UR=XXnXX E and not only does voice echo back, so does data. Be sure GPS is off and I believe auto PTT.
