D-STAR Hot Spot v2.20 is now available for download from the files section of the gmsk_dv_node Yahoo group.
-> Now with repeater mode! I believe this makes D-STAR Hot Spot the first publicly available non-Icom D-STAR repeater with network (D-Plus) connectivity! If you are upgrading from a previous version, you will need to uninstall the old version before installing the new one. Updated information and instructions can be found here: http://www.W9ARP.com/HotSpot/ Changes in version 2.20: - Added repeater mode. Repeater mode allows Hot Spot to act as a local repeater and provide D-STAR network connectivity via D-PLUS. In repeater mode two radios should be connected to the Hot Spot. The transmitting radio should be connected to the node adapter. The receiving radio MUST be connected to the computer's sound card and the GMSK sound card decoder MUST be used. Repeater mode does not support using the node adapter for GMSK decoding. As with all repeaters, a duplexer should be used to isolate the transmitter and receiver and prevent receiver desense. While operating in repeater mode, users may hear a word or two of their own voice come back to them when they unkey after a transmission. This is normal and is due to the buffering involved while waiting for the transmitting radio to stabilize after key-down. Using the shortest possible TX delay time will help to reduce this effect. - Added TX Delay Time setting. Controls the timing between key-down and transmission of DV packets. - Added ExtraGateways.txt file. This file can be used to add additional gateways/reflectors to the repeater list in D-STAR Hot Spot, or replace existing entries with a different IP address/domain name. This setting is particularly helpful if you connect to a gateway with a dynamic IP address that changes often. You can place the gateway's callsign and domain name in the ExtraGateways.txt file and Hot Spot will connect using the domain name rather than the IP address received from the callsign name server. The will allow much faster reconnects when the gateway's IP address changes.
