John, I happen to agree 100%, and end station ID can be done by voice. Interconnection does present a regulatory issue here, under certain conditions. However, providing cross linking is done solely under the control of the gateway administrator, this shouldn't present a problem, as the admin can simply disable that capability on their system. Not owning a gateway, I don't know how much control they have over DPlus, if it doen not have the capability to do so, DPLus should be given the capability for admins to specify specific lockouts. Now, this only works if certain conditions are met, when cross links are created. I have drafted a possible set of guidelines at http://vk3jed.blogspot.com . Failure to follow these or similar guidelines could lead to uncontrolled cross links, which would be detrimental to the network. This issue has been resolved with regards to IRLP and Echolink, and I see no reason why D-STAR can't resolve these issues in a similar manner. 73 de VK3JED / VK3IRL http://vkradio.com
