I own this radio. It's built very solid, feels good in your hand. Not too difficult to program. The battery life seems to be good. However, Icom should be ashamed of the speaker, this radio is near impossible to hear outside. My VX-3R is louder and clearer (measured with sound meter). As should be expected from a small display, it's hard to read the dstar messages, and the memory only holds the last one received.
Overall, I'd give it a 3.4 out of 5 --- In [email protected], Matt Harrington <mbh.li...@...> wrote: > > I'm newly licensed and still getting acquainted with various sites. > eham.net doesn't have any comments on Icom's IC-80AD: > > http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/8302 > > Where else should I look for reviews on this model?
