I have HAM FM radios that are 40 years old and still work just fine 30 years
ago I was running a heathkit 2036 with the heath amp both built from kits ....
Unless some one shows the 99% of us who don't see a need to go digital / have
no need for internet gates ect a reason to expend time and money to go to
D-STAR it will remain a small group within the many users of the 2 meter
band..... just like us on 2 SSB.
The hobby is not going to die because we stay analog but because we let it
SSB never kiled AM no more than FM killed SSB.
D-Star will realy explode when some one finds a way to standerdize digital into
a transfurable mode between manufactures and platforms .... AKA diffrent radios.
