Yes, I have it set to "memory". That option is supposed to be only for memory operations, Where my problem lies is in VFO mode. It is displaying 2 names seeming randomly chosen out of the memories in the VFO display. The names and freq's if there was no memory name display as they should while in memory mode. When I switch into VFO, it has a memory name stuck on the display and I can not see the frequency of the VFO. I can direct enter frequencies ok, but they do not show up on the VFO display. Both VHF ham, and UHF ham bands display like that. The other bands like aviation are normal. VHF Ham is stuck to W9AXD, and UHF Ham is stuck on W9DRR (valid memory names). I can dial the VFO around, enter frequencies, and it still just has one of those two callsigns stuck in VFO. The radio is really receiving and transmitting whatever is in the VFO I just can't see it. W9AXD is a valid VHF (but not the last one I even used on VHF) same with W9DRR. that is my UHF repeater. In testing and trying to replicate the problem, I was thinking it was taking the name from the last memory transmitted, think that was a dead end. Still trying to figure out why. It's been like this since I got it, I normally just leave it on memory, but I HAD to use the vfo to find a signal and got really frustrated when I did finally find it but had no idea what frequency I was on. -- Don Russell, CBRE W9DRR ARRL OES, Technical Specialist Winnebago County AEC http://www.socialengineer.us --
