Those are good units Chris.  You said it worked on the computer right?  They 
were all programmed to send only the NMEA data but you can program them to send 
other data if needed.

My solution consists of

1.  ET101 receiver
2.  RS232 -> TTL converter
3.  7805 regulator

All in a nice enclosure but with ugly build method inside.

3.5mm jack for serial output.  Anderson Power Poles. GPS antenna connector.  
Blue LED as power indicator.
