Hey Evans, I didn't say get rid of the Internet. The Internet is a great thing. I personally am not a big fan of Internet only modes, like the dongle, IRLP, Eckolink, WIRES, etc. They are fun tools and have their place. If the Internet goes, so do those modes. Keep the routing and "Internet" functions (they are great functions), without using an actual Internet connection or use the Internet to do it, but have a backup. Currently, that is not the case with many systems. I understand why many use the Internet for linking. That 10GHz gear is part of where ICOM's icy grip comes in, and it isn't cheap. But that 10GHz gear isn't the only way to do this..... :-) 73 David, AC7DS

Without Dplus, your now a prime ICOM G2 Gateway without the extra goodies. No Linking, no reflector access, nada. ... [Snip]
