Not picking on you Ed, but they're not even close to the same thing. It's FDMA, capable of two different channel widths, and is using the AMBE+2 VOCODER, for starters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NXDN for more details. It blows D-STAR away, feature and functionality-wise, and is 100% incompatible with D-STAR radios, and infrastructure.
