We use the internet connection to help with practicing for emcomm. our local
county ARES is using D-RATS over D-STAR for digtial com. We do a weekly net,
and people that don't have a D-STAR radio, or are traveling can connect via the
internet (DV Dongle, or D-RATS reflector in this case) and practice with us.
the D-RATS interface is the same whether it's on a radio or the internet, so
for practice it's just as good.

a number of people enjoy the chance to chat with people a long distance away
with the quality of an FM conversation. hobbies are supposed to be fun, and
for those that enjoy it, this is fun.
