Guys, please comment on that a bit, as I did not read the LUG list over> the summer. I could imagine I missed the objective. ;) ......Well Dirk I think what we all had in mind when going to schools & universities is just talking to a class, show them a couple of GUI apps on our laptop or if we dont have one booting up a minidistro on their existing pc, and go through a couple of slides. Nothing more required. But it's GREAT if you go beyond by actually building a relationship with the professors, curriculum development etc. That's what makes a Lasting difference long after we leave, if we get them to actually start Teaching linux every semester. I will help you out in this process. > 1.)> What should the presentation material include? > 2.) We should agree on topics and their depth. Tekki's like me could > tend to overload the presentations. I dont like long presentations personally. I think only 6 slides: who we are, what linux is, history, present, future, how to join the lug. The rest is just talking. I have not seen anyone uploading a sample presentation to the files section of the lug so worst case scenario I'll have to put together a 10-minute quickie the day of presenting. In the same way we will be using the same ubuntu cds for both schools and universities, We should be using the same presentation too, no need to duplicate effort.
