If you want to compile it yourself you'll need the latest version of 
Solaris Express, which is Sun's latest development snapshot of Solaris. 
  Once you've compiled the OpenSolaris code you'll have OpenSolaris.

I came across an apparently more advanced OpenSolaris distro today -

http://www.gnusolaris.org/gswiki

They have a live cd and a full install.  Testing it out should make 
today's trip to Saudi more fun than usual.
