I want to install Ubuntu 5.10 on a computer with a 2 GHz Pentium 4 CPU
and 768 MB of RAM.  The first thing I'm doing, though, is trying to
run the Live CD.  Everything goes well up until it says, "Starting
Enterprise Volume Management Service...", and then it just hangs.
I've waited a long time for it to finish but it doesn't.  I rebooted
several times and I always get the same thing.

Anyone know how I might fix this?  Can I disable EVMS somehow?
There's only one hard drive, and then a DVD drive.
