Am flying out to the US this evening, and shall be done for about 3
weeks, which is obviously not making my girlfriend happy. If I were
to go ahead and go bowling my life would not be worth living, but
maybe next time.

As far as linux distro go: Ensure they have the following :

openSuSE, Fedora, Ubuntu. - now which versions ? Go x86, then consider 64bit

Live cds might be an idea as well...
Demo / open copies of Corperate products / and enterprise OSes might
be an idea to.

so have a copy of SLES, RHEL,
the downloadable versions of: Open Exchange, Zimbra, etc.
