I was speaking with my man Abu Baker (Not only a great lad who taught
me how to install VSAT but he also runs the Jebel Ali Earth Station.)
He has told me that Etisalat have a couple of new things in the
pipeline. First of all is that they intend to allow VOIP at the end
of 2007, and intend to have their own VOIP carrier so you can
terminate your voice on their network (this is already in place) and
also they have just finished implementing a WiMAx network that spans
all of dubai, and starting some time soon they will start allowing
access to their WiMax network.
