I've had terrible problems with a linksys WAG-54g V1 (but this is a known dog
of a router) and I
don't have enough good things to say about my Belkin F5D7633. It runs linux,
handles Azureus and 2
copies of gtk-gnutella maxing out the link for months without error. I
regularly see 30-50 days on a
single connection/ip address and have gone 6 months without power-cycling the
router.

You can get into it with telnet and can then munge the internal iptables
firewall to your hearts
content. (You have to re-do this if you power cycle it but mine is on a UPS).

It has 802.11g built in (but I'm not using it) and lots of fruity bits. It was
expensive, but then
it solved *all* my connectivity problems (well, except for the fact EIM is the
back end)

I've also had a generic no-name brand that was running VxWorks (that was a pig
too) and a D-link
modem that choked on high bandwidth and lots of connections. YYMV
