Not really in day to day usage. The "problem" comes in performing "upgrades" to 
the latest version 
of Ubuntu when they release it. Ubuntu has a pretty smooth and seamless upgrade 
process (sounds like 
bullshit to me, all I ever get is problems with "unauthenticated packages" 
which come from the 
Ubuntu repository.. anyway I digress) and the packages installed by Automatix 
can bugger things up.

If you have never managed to get the process to work in any case (like me) and 
manually upgrade by 
changing the sources file and running dselect, then you should not have too 
many problems. You may 
have to manually remove some package that automatix has installed to get things 
to go though.

All in all, it has far more advantages than disadvantages.. Just don't post on 
the ubuntu forums 
about any difficulty you may have after installing Automatix or you will have a 
new one untidily 
ripped. You've been warned!
