And by the way: I guess it would also be handy for other purposes to actually have a function that will hand back velocity (output, dimensionless numbers...). For the upwinding: If we use anything different from darcy, we anyway cannot wind up everything at once because then, pressure and veloctiy are not related linearly any more. -> Making the upwind scheme depending on the relation between pressure and velocity does seem strange to me.
