Dear Kai,
after you have executed
*srun -n 6 --pty /bin/bash**
*you have reserved 6 slots such that you can directly run
*mpirun -n 6 REMEDIATION_3D_cake*

do you get the same error if you try to run the simulation locally on
your computer, using e.g. only two cores?
