Dear DuMuX community,
we are excited to announce the forthcoming release of DuMuX 3.8! To this end,
here are a few comments about the planned schedule and important dates for the
next weeks:
== Soft Feature Freeze: 13th October 2023 ==
- Please announce any major uncommitted changes intended for inclusion by
opening a merge request with a detailed description. Major issues should be
mentioned via a comment in the respective release issue:
https://git.iws.uni-stuttgart.de/dumux-repositories/dumux/-/issues/1304.
- Unannounced major changes post-soft freeze will not be accepted.
== Hard Feature Freeze: 20th October 2023 ==
- All major changes should be committed by this date.
- Only non-breaking, small fixes and those approved by the release manager
will be accepted after the hard freeze.
- Try to resolve all bugs, include your tests, and complete your
documentation by this date.
- Final internal reports on progress and any dropped items will be
communicated via GitLab's issue tracker.
== Final Testing: 27th October 2023 ==
- From this point on, only commits authorized or made by the release
manager are permitted.
- Release candidate packages will be available.
- Extensive testing will be undertaken across various systems, compilers
and settings.
== DuMuX 3.8 Release: 3rd November 2023 ==
We appreciate your cooperation and adherence to the outlined schedule and look
forward to a successful release!
