Hi folks, I recently installed MacOS 9 on my trusty 2300c. It seems to work great and is no slower than 8.6 was on my system. I've got 40MB of RAM and a 6GB HD (thank you MCE!). I've read the threads on Usenet about OS 9 not liking the Express Modem control panel. This is true, it will not open. The Express Modem itself, however, seems to work fine. I set the Modem control panel to internal and Geoport Express Modem. Interestingly, Remote Access does not see the modem unless the Express Modem control panel in loaded at startup (even though I can't open it). Now, to my question, does this mean that the modem is always on? If I remember correctly it draws a fair amount of power so I always used to turn it off via the control panel when not in use. Without being able to open the control panel, I can't tell if it's on or not. I'm quite frankly surpised it works at all . . . Thanks, John ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
