Hello everyone. I am about to buy a PowerBook Duo 280c. However, there is a
very big problem with it. It simply will not turn on. When the salesman
connected it to a working Duo Dock and attempted to turn it on by the back on
button and the keyboard on button, nothing happened. Again, the Duo Docks
were working, because the motor was operating and put the Duo into the right
place inside the dock. It wouldn't turn on independently with the power
button on the back. They couldn't find a power adapter, but I have read that
the Duo Dock automatically charges the Duo when it is inside. I am wondering
if Nickel Metal Hydride batteries can discharge beyond all hope when stored
for a while without any power. I am also wondering if a bad backup battery
could be the culprit, also. If there is anything else that could be wrong,
too, please respond with that also. Thanks very much for your time!
