It would have to be a modification to the PowerBook. As far as the DuoDock
is concerned it sole purpose in life is to act as a desktop machine. Not
some topless floozy willing to show off it's LCD with it's innermost self
exposed (heaven forbid)!

I stuck a canibalized 280c into my dock a while back to see if the
motherboard was good. It was only the bottom plastic with motherboard,
trackball, case stiffener and the screen. When I first put it in it would
start to boot (from an OS8.1 floppy) and I could see the screen glow (it was
to closed up to see if there was anything on screen). The external monitor
would not come on. I had to force shutdown from the power button on back. It
happened a couple times in a row.

In trying to recall how I corrected this, I believe I played with the
microswitch for the lid (which tells the Duo that it's closed). I think I
had to plug it back in and hold it down to get the Duo to boot with the LCD
off. I THINK. I played with other stuff at the same time so I'm not
positive. Plus it was a few month's ago and it was something I DID NOT want
to happen at the time.

Anyone want to tear down a Duo and unplug the sleep switch to see what
happens???
