I think if we all read the fine print on any software we downloaded into our
computers, we would be HORRIFIED at how much the software giants protect
themselves by taking NO responsibility for how this software might damage our
computers.
Regarding apple and os x, I DID purchase the cd, but have YET to receive it,
and since I legally intend to register it, I don't understand why apple would
not offer direct downloads from their website for a FEE! Why waste all that
plastic when there are those of us with very fast connections more than
willing to burn our own copies of a cd burner....legally!!!!
I love apple, but sometimes they just DO stupid things! Not registering
their operating system when Bill Gates came along was their BIGGEST mistake,
but fortunately, they are getting more things RIGHT and making far less major
blunders! I agree that ripping off apple is really ripping us ALL off when
we don't purchase software from them, since some of that money goes right
back into research and development of the next phenomenon in software and
hardware!
Remember the soothsayers that predicted doom and gloom repeatedly, that apple
would NOT survive, it was on it's way out, blah blah blah! The human spirit
will thrive as long as good product and easy to use accessibility is the
primary concern for apple!
