Yeah, works great. Have paid for several auctions with it without a glitch.
You can also receive $ for free from buyers, although business's pay a low
rate of 1.9%
Safe? About as safe as anything can be. I admit to some quesyness giving
them my checking account info in order to become a "verified" payer, but I
don't think it's an unreasonable risk. PayPal has been around for over a
year and seem to have built a sound reputation.
How it works is you go to their site, plug in some info about who you want
to pay and they bill your credit card and zap the funds to your seller's
account. They e-mail both of you and keep good transaction records. They
have some security measures in place, but afaik you're on your own for
chargebacks. It's free.
