Take back the comendation, I only have a 68k mac. I cannot run OSX,
ever. And the problem is, that on the duo series, ppc or 68k no one can.
Everything below a G3 need not apply. You probably should at least know
this about BSD. It can run happily on a 68k. Why does OSX require a G3
if it uses the same core? I am first and foremost a systems programmer.
What Apple has done makes me want to puke. B-E-T-A as you put it, is a
near stable release, meaning that only minor changes are expected before
a full release. Removing OS9 and putting in some other form of
compatibility would be a MASSIVE undertaking. We can deduce that OSX-GM
will have the same reqs as the beta. I would point all of this out to
apple, if I could run OSX, but since I run Linux on an Intel x86 as my
primary machine, and my Duo PB 280c is not enough to run OSX, I dont
believe that I had a right to make reports to Apple about it. I simply
wanted to point out to the list why I believe that OSX has major
problems.
