Ugh. Ok heres is the fast and quick list of what I think:

1. OSX = Darwin = Mach OS Kernel = Net/Open/Free BSD kernel
2. NetBSD runs on 68k, OpenBSD runs on 68k, whats wrong with darwin?
3. Unix is a huge departure from traditional MacOS design, and I don't
think
that Apple has considred all of the angles, such as how developers
are
going to feel when most of their tools become useless, or how are
MacOS
users going to get used to things like the /dev
(directory/filesystem,
depends on your flavor of unix).
4. I know that the 68k is old, and so is the PPC, but they are by no
means
useless. The 68k still kicks the butt of any CPU at the same clock
speed,
thanks to ideas like memory mapped IO, and buss mastering. I think
that
Apple should consider at least giving the information away to linux
and BSD
developers on the internal hardware configuration, so that those
ports can
be made fully functional, and even more so if Apple is going to base
OSX on
a Unix kernel themselves. (I know this dosn't have to much to do with
the
OSX topic, but what the heck, might as well get flamed for something
good :) )
