Just wanted to let everyone know the outcome of my adventure with the 230.
Thanks to everyone who offered advice and opinions (& software!) the 230 is
up and running smoothly !
I tried loading several versions of OS (7.5.5 & 7.6.1) after listening to
everyones comments on what they were running on there 230's and finally
decided that 7.1 was indeed the best choice. (for me)
This 230 has only 12ram and 120HD and I found that it wasn't worth giving
up all of the ram and disk space to run the later OS's plus the machine is
LOT's faster with 7.1 on it!
With the addition of some third party extensions like 'Stickyclick' and
'Now Menus' and adding Apples 'Thread Manager', 'Dragging Enabler' and
'Appearance Extension' I have almost the same functionality of the latter
OS's
in a much more compact package!
I was even able to install the 'Control Strip' from OS 7.5.3 and it works
great!
If anyone wants more details just let me know!
