I was able to use FreePPP and get the 2300 on-line! I think the problem was
that I had the wrong server addresses. Thanks to all.

Some more questions...

Upon start up I now get the following message: "An AppleShare system error
occurred. (Please run the Chooser to activate AppleTalk." I'm prompted with
OK, and then everything starts up normally. What's going on and how do I
get rid of this?

There is a lot of junk in the Preferences folder from the previous user.
I've been able to trash some of it with the help of Cleen Sweep and
PrefsCleaner. I tried using YankPro because it seems to be the most
comprehensive, but upon launch, I get the message: "The application YankPro
3.0.2 could not be opened because 'AppearanceLib' could not be found"
What's this about?

I also recall a good preference cleaner program called O-Limpia, but
searched some download sites and can't locate it. Is it still around?

Now that I'm online, what software do folks recommend? I don't wan't the
latest, just given my system (49 MB RAM, system 7.5.3, soon to upgrade to
7.5.5.) what will be the fastest and most stable? I could use advice on
browser, and e-mail client.

I have both TeachText and SimpleText. Can I only use SimpleText?

Thanks again.
