 From what we've been able to determine you cannot buy an 
off-the-shelf production PRAM battery for the PB 2400.  All the ones 
I've been able to track down have been custom mods...then once you've 
got this battery it's pretty much take the machine apart exercise on 
par with replacing the CPU.

We've listed some vendors on mac2400 that have said they've had 
batteries in the past, but most folks will need to have the install 
done anyway.  FWIW, even Kevin at MCE hasn't been able to find a 
source for these.  When mine goes...it goes to Paul.

I expect this is going to get to be a bit more interesting in the 
next year or so as more PRAM batteries fail.  Kinda makes me wonder 
about the 7 year rule whereby Apple must make parts available.  I 
assume that means they'll make them available, but only through their 
repair service at whatever the current minimum is, $350 I think.

Wonder what the Japanese are doing? Any news sources folks?
