Did you set Appletalk to Ethernet ?

The _only_ options available (offered) in the Appletalk c/p
_when_I'm_at_work_ are Modem port, Printer port, and Remote Only.

Perhaps I didn't explain carefully enough in my first posting. At work,
I've got an 'ordinary' DuoDock. This (I understand) would have had the
Ethernet card fitted as an extra - ie: the dock didn't offer an e/net card
as standard. Although the e/net card shows all signs of working normally,
it doesn't seem to be recognised by the 280c.

When I'm at home, using the _same_ 280c - with no changes to the setup - it
recognises the e/net port in my DuoDock Plus (which came with _built-in_
e/net as _standard_ - ie: I presume built into the motherboard), and
Ethernet is added to the options offered by the Appletalk c/p.

The 280c seems to automatically recognise the e/net in the Dock Plus (where
it should always expect to find the same e/net hardware fitted as standard
in all Pluses) but not in the 'standard' dock (which might or might not
have been fitted with an e/net card when new).

Perhaps I need an 'extra' driver (in addition to those installed by 7.6.1)
for the e/net card??

Thanks for help so far,
