I hate replying to my own posts, but here it goes for the benefit of others
who might also want to know.
Yes, it works. I'm currently doing a low level format on the IDE drive after
booting from the SCSI drive. You only need to be careful with the drive
cables and it seems to work. To excessive heating. I did remove the battery
to make sure that the adapter wouldn't try to deliver power to it and would
concentrate on the 2 drives only.
I'm not sure, but I feel I'm becoming a scientist, maybe not mad, but a
scientist anyway!
