That would be 3 years... if in the original batches. If they were post
production, they could be as new as two. But that is it. The part
number bandied about here has not been in production at Varta since 1998.
Which is why I make my own. (Come on, did you guys seriously think I
wouldn't offer ;) )
Now, here's the rub: if a shelf battery is good, it should last longer
than 3 yrs. If you could squeeze another year out of one now for your
2400 -- hoping a subnotebook solution is or will be in the works within
the next year, then you buy yourself the time extension for usefulness
for your 2400. If there is no newer subnotebook in the pipe for us, then
you'll be replacing that battery yet again.
I guess it's all in the math -- and how patient one is.
