Hear, hear! I lug a ThunkPad 240 (4 lbs w/big batt) just to have a subnotebook w/56K and ethernet. Having to put up with Windoze is a pain, but it works, sort of. The 2300 I have just finished redoing will handle the Mac-centric chores, but slowly. Wonder if Apple has spoken with anyone at Sony in ref. to a Vaio w/RISC and Apple OS? As Wintel hardware has moved towards a commonality point (PCI/FireWire/USB/IDE) with the Mac, it can't be THAT hard to take a Wintel platform and G3 or G4 it, as much of the substructure of the laptop will be the same. New drivers, yup, but just a new CPU and glue chips, all things in existance today. Imagine a Vaio with a truely SUPERIOR OS on it! OSX anyone? LINUX is good, but still a bit too technical for the run-of-the-mill computer user. OSX hopefully with cover both sets of bases (no, haven't played with it yet.)
