Before you toss it, what's the model number?
The info I have indicates there are 3 models:
1.) Model M7778 - Charges Type I batteries only
2.) Model M1812 - Charges Type I, II, and III batteries but requires
a firmware update to the charger for Type III
compatibility
3.) Model M4178 - Charges Type I, II and III as is.
I have the second model and it says 24V---1.04A also.
