Actually Laurent, that drive will fit, depending on how you look at it. The
stock brackets won't fit on the 8.45mm drive but the drive will fit into the
hard drive bay of the 2300. It still has the same width and depth of the
original drive. You either have to purchase new brackets that will fit the
new drive or jury-rig the current brackets.
The reason old brackets won't fit new drives is because it was necessary to
move the original mounting brackets out closer to the ends of the drive to
allow manufactures to make drives thinner. Width & depth remain the same.
I am guessing that your question about fit is finding a larger capacity
drive (whatever the height) that will fit your 2300's stock mounting
brackets. Is this the case?
I and another list member have mentioned the use of zip ties to jury-rig.
Not pretty, not high tech, but it got the job done.
You may be able to get new brackets from MCE PowerBooks that will allow you
to fit a drive that has the relocated screw holes that are found on newer
drives.

P.S. Laurent, did you get my off-list replies yesterday?
