Hmmm....the term "Jury-Rig," where you currently live, normally involves a
politician trying to get out of an indictment! <<grin>> (Laurent lives

"Jury-rig" means a temporary assembly or one not engineered to a high level,
though likely to work. A practical application is the wire coathanger used
to hold one's exhaust pipe up when it begins to drag while on the way to
work. Not a "correct" application, but (now switching to "Southern")
"shoot-fire, boys, dun got 10,000 miles on the pickup with'n coathanger
holden' up da pipe!" (i.e., it works)
As for the "zip-ties," these are the plastic zip straps used to hold wires,
etc. One end goes thru a clip in the other end and, "zip!" you can tighten
the strap around wires, hard drives, etc.
Slang is fun, eh?

(Who has repaired many an exhaust system with coathangers, fixed airplanes
with duct tape {"ducktape" in some areas!} and held together more things than
I can recount with zip-ties!)
