Eh?? Provide URL and/or confirmation. Otherwise "Urban Legend." Tell me,
what can make glass more brittle? As for dropping a laptop, it is well known
to cause broken screens. <<grin>>
I use Fantastik or 409. 22 years +/- of cleaning screens, plastic touch
pads, laptop screens, etc. (and lots of pre-PC stuff, too...PC first came out
in early 80's) and never a problem with any of them. Soft cloth,
non-reactive cleaner. Does it every time. BTW, I have an old 230 which has
been cleaned with ONLY the above for.....uh.......8 years now?? Doubt the
screen is any more brittle than at time of manufacture.

(Who has actually washed computers in a dishwasher....and had them work.
Smoke damaged units, hot water, lots of soap (dishwasher), alcohol to remove
any water, bake logic & other boards in oven at 175 degrees for 4 hrs (NO
plastics, oven door slightly open), alcohol wash again.....darn if they
didn't work!)
