Hi folks:
I just got a great deal on a used backup tape drive.
Its a Sony SDT-7000 Mechanism installed in an external SR-2000 case from APS.
Along with the drive I also got 26 4gig Sony 120P DDS2 data tapes that have
each been used once.
I hooked up the drive and inserted a tape and got....nothing.
Apparently I need a copy of the APS PowerTools control panel in order for
the tape drive to be recognized by my Mac.
APS wants $20 for there latest version of PowerTools but I don't need the
whole thing I just need the CP!
If anyone has a copy that they could mail me I would be most grateful!

Now to my second question.
Is there a good Free/Shareware backup solution for using this drive or
should I spend the money and buy a copy of Retrospect from Dantz.
(Which would cost more than I paid for the drive and tapes!)
I will be using the drive to both archive and backup my home systems so I'm
trying to keep the cost as low as possible.

TIA

Aloha, Ken
