Folks,

I did mention sometime ago that after the problems I had with the screen on
my 2300c, I was finally able to make it work with a new used display cable.
However, if you remember, I was also reporting that the brightness wouldn't
work anymore, as well as the dimming of the screen.

Andrew Austin was kind enough to provide me with another inverter board,
which I did replace this evening. However, my problem still persists. I was
wondering if anybody would have an idea as to why the screen works fine, the
sound is perfect, but I can't change the brightness. The brightness buttons,
BTW, seem to work properly, as I'm getting the brightness dialog with the
level of brightness in it. As I press one or the other button, the
brightness bar moves to show the brightness level. However, the screen stays
the same. If I remove all power, then start it again, if I press the
brightness, the screen will come a little bit brighter, but it's all what it
does.

I've tried to reset the power manager, reset the PRAM, nothing, zilch, nada.

Anyone has any idea, beside replacing the screen?

-Laurent.
