Hi Pete,
Once upon a time I had a Duo 280c with 24 megs of RAM and Ram
Doubler, and it worked beautifully for precisely what you want to do.
One suggestion-you might try iCab as your Web browser instead of
Explorer. It's a preview version that is free ( sometime in the
indefinite future there will be a modest charge for it, although the
developer says he will always maintain a free lite version.) It's
available in both 68k and PPC versions, it takes up little RAM and
hard drive space, and I've found it to be fast, reliable, stable, and
easily customizable. You might want to check it out at
